│ Sasse aka Klas Lindblad (28) was first introduced to house ││
│ via the first Chicago house boom in the mid eighties. As he ││
│ was born and living in Finland he hardly had a chance to go ││
│ to any clubs and even buying records was something which was ││
│ mainly concentrated on his early travels to London and NY. ││
│ ││
│ Radio played an important part in this young mans life, in ││
│ the early beginning finding rare pressings were almost ││
│ impossible so what the specialist radioshows played on the ││
│ radio was taped and archived with great pleasure. ││
│ ││
│ Soon though the inevitable happened and a small fortune was ││
│ spent on some turntables and a mixer and the journey was ││
│ about to begin... ││
│ ││
│ 10 years and quite a few releases later he is still on his ││
│ journey for music and especially for his love of house ││
│ music. Now residing in Frankfurt ,Germany he runs his label ││
│ Moodmusic and does productions under the names Freestyle ││
│ Man, Sasse, Morris Brown, Winston Fletcher and many more. ││
│ ││
│ The history of the name goes back to the year 1995 when a ││
│ Finnish independent record label called SΣhk÷ was about to ││
│ release a record from the first fruits of Sasse┤s production ││
│ career. A doublepack with a mixture of smooth house grooves ││
│ and some strange but still attractive jazznumbers which ││
│ where mixed in totally free fashion. To reflect the musical ││
│ soup he came up with the name Freestyle Man and still it ││
│ stands for his open-minded approach towards every kind of ││
│ music style. ││
│ ││
│ After this first release followed a bunch of other releases ││
│ on SΣhk÷/PUU [with collaborations wih Jimi Tenor, Severi ││
│ Pyysalo and others...] and other labels. The highlight from ││
│ these early productions is the seminal Que Domingo Inquieto ││
│ which featured Jimi Tenor on flute and went on to become a ││
│ classic. A thing which the young producer/dj did not even ││
│ realise till the last years when he met more and more people ││
│ telling him what an impact the track had at the time of the ││
│ release. Flute and vibraphone soloes over floating keys, the ││
│ irrestible percussion groove [using the first time a snippet ││
│ from a War funkclassic..] and a fat production ensured that ││
│ the record is still sounding fresh as ever today. ││
│ ││
│ In 2000 a much delayed album "Going South" was released on ││
│ the ClichΘ [EFA] label from Germany with a pleasent mix of ││
│ early Freestyle Man productions as well as new songs. The ││
│ album was received with warm response from the dance- ││
│ community. ││
│ ││
│ The appreciation of good studio productions and proper ││
│ workmanship what comes to djing was always important to ││
│ Sasse. In the past years he has remixed names like Blaze, ││
│ Jori Hulkkonen, Rhythm Plate, KemeticJust, Tuomas Salmela ││
│ and Aqua Bassino and for labels like Playhouse, Silver ││
│ Network, 20/20 Vision, Brique Rogue, Statra, Mantis, Italic, ││
│ Dessous, Station, Keys Of Life and Tie Entertainment. ││

│ In Frankfurt Sasse is resident at the Robert Johnson club ││
│ where he is running the Finnish First night to good success. ││
│ He is still playing regulary in clubs like Kerma (Helsinki) ││
│ in his native Finland and around Europe at various clubs. ││
│ His style of djing is close to the original New York ││
│ houseflavour where some deep vocaltracks are mixed with ││
│ percussive instrumentals to build up a spiritual atmosphere ││
│ without loosing any of the energy on the dancefloor. ││
