│ I came across this while scouring eBay for pieces of the │
│ Columbia shuttle and felt myself forced by some unseen hand to │
│ buy it. While it doesn't have the same awe inspiring mystique │
│ as the space shuttle, I think it has a certain charm that I, │
│ for one, wouldn't trade for the world. │
│ │
│ I don't know quite how to describe KOW's music. Mostly │
│ downtempo, kind of dreamy. But that's not right at all, really, │
│ he also does some crazy, destroy your speakers type shit - │
│ Stalker Song for instance - which could have easily been used in │
│ some b horror movie. It's odd stuff, but highly enjoyable. │
│ That was his first album anyway. The second one didn't really │
│ interest me too much, it had vocals and lacked the weirdness │
│ which had attracted me to KOW in the beginning. Oh well. │
│ │
│ Anyway, I'm guessing (from the catalog number) that this was │
│ released before he signed to Mantra, after he released his first │
│ 10" - Kentish Town/Bakerloo (KOW1) - on his own label, Big Sham. │
│ This vinyl really only has the King Of Woolworths logo and track │
│ titles stamped on it, so I can't be sure what the hell it is. │
│ │
│ If you like this, check out Ming Star, the first album, plus │
│ the 10"s we released a few months ago and all the other shit. │
