Paul Moody
October 6th
Paul grew up in a family of music lovers and from an
early age was listening to the likes of Queen and
Michael Jackson. At the age of twelve he took up playing
the guitar and was very much into the indie scene.
However that was all to change when at the age of
fifteen he heard the first Renaissance compilation mixed
by Sasha & Digweed. Paul took an interest in this style
of music and began to regularly buy mix compilations
from the likes of Digweed, Sasha, Ian Ossia and Nigel
Dawson. At the age of seventeen he begin to regularly
attend Middlesbrough's Sugar Shack. It was also around
this time that he began to purchase records that he
heard during nights out. A year later he purchased his
first set of decks and began to learn how to DJ.
Originally Paul's sound was very much set in the
Progressive House mould. However, over time his sound
has progressed more towards the tech-house sound.
Nowadays Paul can be heard playing (in his bedroom) a
blend of Deep House and Tech-House records. Paul was
also a recent Runner-up in IDJs readers mix section
where the magazine described his sound as "Jazzy,
ethereal, almost horizontal house which we found utterly
irresistible".
