The Unthanks are among the acts tipped by the BBC for this yearÆs Mercury
Music Prize for best British album. Back in 2007 judges confessed that the
award became a two-horse race between The Unthanks and Elbow, with æThe
BairnsÆ narrowly missing out. In his Pick of the Best for the Mercury Prize
