There are artists who fall in love with Cully and with whom Cully falls in love
with too. Even though it is the third year in a row that he is playing at the
Festival, his last album ôFollow the White Rabbitö is an additional occasion to
come and demonstrate his genius, sat down at his piano much to his fans delight.
Yaron Herman does not have a typical story. Indeed, he took up piano at age 16
when an injury made it impossible for him to continue to pursue the basketball
career he was predestined for. The injury that closed the doors of an
international sports career rapidly opened the ones of music! From the start,
thanks to his amazing talent, Yaron Herman played in the prestigious concert
halls of Israel, then moved to the US to perfect his know-how at the Berklee
School of Music before finally going to Paris. He thought he would only stay a
few days, but this stay in Paris ended up being decisive for the rest of his
careerà he played concert after concert and finally signed with a record label
to produce several albumsà he never left!
There is magic in his piano and Yaron Herman knows how to deliver his best
assets to surprise his audience: his charisma, his enthusiasm and his lyricism
are always deeply moving. His baffling covers of the pop hits ôToxicö by
Britney Spears or ôMessage in a Bottleö by Police are one of his hallmarks, and
have made him famous beyond his usual jazz audience.
The title of his last album, ½ Follow The White Rabbit ╗ alludes to that
extraordinary, fairytale like career of his, that seems to have been served to
this young pianist on a silver plate. Just like the mischievous rabbit in Alice
in Wonderland, a piano and music have succeeded in bringing Yaron Herman to a
