The Friend plays melodic and eloquent indierock music with a purpose of
bringing joy and good times to peoples' lives. This purpose is very strongly
present in their upcoming debut album öAthletic Girlsö. It is the little good
things that make people smile and this is something most people tend to
forget. But on these particular little things many of The Friend's tunes and
shows are build on. It's the feeling, the good feeling. The Friend has
operated with its current line up ever since 2006 but the idea of The Friend
had already lived in the minds of Mikko M. Koskinen and Anders Vuorimaa for
some years before that. For Mikko and Anders had already been making music
together for some years.
The musical essence of the band can be best described with such words as pop,
dance, melodic rock and athmospheric tunes. Their debut album öAthletic Girlsö
is all of these and more. Though diverse yet it serves a solid entirety.
