"UK producer Ad Brown has been making a huge mark on the progressive house
/ trance scenes with his precision-built, evocative electronic soundscapes
over the past 2 years.
Prog maestros like Sasha, Nick Warren & Dave Seaman are ardent supporters,
as are forward-thinking trance legionnaires like Ferry Corsten and Gareth
Emery. Ad makes his debut on Australia's Indigo Records this week with
his 'Elevator' single that comes with a great selection of remixes from:
Tash, Bambook and Soundprank.
Ad's original mix is rooted with a rock solid, funky progressive bassline
and as the intricate electronics and hooky vocal samples enter the mix you
can feel a club monster brewing. When the stabs drop and the groove is in
full swing the drive and overall energy of the track is awesome. There are
no over powering leads or big melodies so it's quite a restrained
production from Ad who is certainly capable and also loved for his highly
musical club compositions. This piece however is aimed strictly at the
dancefloor with its unrelenting and contagious groove.
Movement Recordings head man Tash is first up on the remixes and he
delivers in fine style once again. Tash stays pretty true to Ad's original
in terms of the overall vibe but he's beefed things up a little bit. A
big, rumbling bassline, incredibly catchy arps and those great stabs from
the original make this one a good pumped up version of Ad's strong
original.
The next remix is supplied by Eiad Sayegh's Bambook project. Bambook has
quickly been building a strong reputation amongst some of the most elite
DJ's and producers around including: John Digweed, John Graham aka
Quivver, Henan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Egostereo and many more. His
'Elevator' remix shows quite clearly why he's earned praise from such a
high calibre group. It's a wonderful ly atmospheric and richly textured
production which a deep, intelligent groove that's tailor made for the
cooler dancefloors out there.
Closing out the package is one of 2010s greatest stories, Soundprank
started 2010 off as a relatively unknown producer but by the end of the
year he was regarded as one of the top up and coming talent's and also one
of the most sought after remixers around. With a jaw dropping string of
productions on Anjunadeep and Proton through the first half of this year
Canada's Soundprank is now amongst the top cutting edge progressive house
producers around. His 'Elevator' remix will most likely go down as one of
his best productions this year and certainly has one of the most memorable
breakdown in recent memory. It's simply an incredible composition with a
gorgeous, highly emotional piano line, sweeping, glassy melodies and
beautifully textured chords. This is a great club track but it's also an
exceptional piece of music from Soundprank, if you consider you self a fan
of intelligent and emotional club music then there is no reason not to buy
this."
