One of our favorite records by this Brazilian harmony group -- a
late 60s/early 70s pop act who could really work well in a number
of different styles! Part of the Golden Boys inspiration was
American soul acts of the 60s, but they also shared a lot of pop
influences with other Brazilian artists of the post Jovem Guarda
era -- working in a mode that was more globally-oriented than you
might think, and which still sounds pretty fresh today! The
arrangements on the set have lots of nice bouncy Blue Brazil
touches -- strings gliding over the top, while percussion and
electric rhythm percolate at the bottom.
