Release Notes:
Hi there,
I┤m Frankie Chavez.
I┤m a musician from Lisbon, Portugal.
I first started playing guitar at the age of 9.
I remember listening to ôThe Jimi Hendrix Experienceö when I was 11 years old
and being completely blown away. I┤d never heard anything like that before. It
seemed that his voice was completely connected to his guitar and that was his
way of expressing himself. I remember thinking ôI wish I could do thatö.
Time went on and I did what a normal kid does: went to school, did my studies,
went to college and started working life. I think I┤ve spent great time
searching for an identity that wasn┤t quite my own.
In 2003 I started traveling the worldàSpain, Brazil, Morocco, Australia, New
Zealand, Indonesia. By hearing other types of music I found the inspiration to
write my own songs. They remained ideas for quite a while, though.
When I returned home I was invited from a friend to record some of those songs.
In 2010 I released a self-titled EP. It was the best thing I could have doneà.
it showed me that music is the way to speak from my soul and to keep me sane and
connected to whatÆs important in life.
Thanks for listening.
Frankie
