Winter in Toronto can be a harrowing time for even the most

album recorded last winter by Toronto's own Mike Matheson, better
known to the masses as Beef Terminal. Matheson's third release for
local independent envelope-pushers Noise Factory, The Isolationist
is an album that fully embraces the ghostly ambience of mellow
post-rock, then seamlessly fuses it with gently ominous electronics
to create a unique hybrid of astounding depth and originality.
An artist who likes to raise the bar with each new project,
Matheson relates to The Isolationist as a liberating affair, which
