DJ Inc
In the summer of 1996, Ryan Wofford (aka dj.inc.) began
his dj career, playing off of friends' equipment and
traveling to his hometown in Atlanta every weekend to
buy records. Along with a couple of dj friends, and a
few lovers of the music, Ryan helped start a dance scene
in Auburn, AL. Often playing at huge house parties, and
on the local college radio station [WEGL 91.1] with Djs
Bliss (now in L.A.) & Matt Key. Ryan rapidly developed a
following for his style of progressive music.
Moving back to Atlanta in late 1996 gave him a chance to
refocus his energy on music once again in a new
environment. He immediately gained semi-residencies (at
least once a month) at Nomenclature Museum, Loretta's,
Karma, as well as The Church & Masquerade with former dj
partner, Nasir. Ryan has performed on bills with German
superstar - Paul Van Dyk, Danny Howells, Josh Wink, Doc
Martin, the Hardkiss brothers, Kimball Collins, John
Acquaviva, Joshua Ryan, Meat Katie, Kazell, Thee-O, DJ
Craze, and many more. He has played for Atlanta-based
promoters, such as Liquified, Iris, Mirage, Vinyl Boy
and more. Ryan's fan base continues to grow in areas all
across the US & Canada, along with growing support
overseas as well.
Inc's signature style is that of silky-smooth mixing
across genres of deeptechytriballybreaky house.
Diversity is not a problem, either. Depending on the
time-slot and venue, Inc.'s sets can range from down
tempo & acid jazz, to deep & funky house, all the way to
dark, sexy progressive house.
Currently, Ryan is hard at work with his day job as an
Account Executive for Trend Influence, a full-service
marketing company known for its media property
www.umix.net. He is a former Acid Jazz/Dance/12" Buyer
for Tower Records in Atlanta, and has several projects
to help further the house scene here in the US, as well
as abroad.
Ryan is working on increasing exposure thru weekly gigs,
radio shows, on-line mixes, and an arsenal of mixed cds.
Ryan has recently been featured on radio shows for WRAS
88.5's "Houseworks" and WREK 91.1's experimental show
"The Mobius". Inc. currently holds a residency at
Formosa in Atlanta, where he hosts his ôTempoö parties,
and he also plays one-offs in various venues such as the
Crescent Room, Eleven50, Lava, Illusions, and more.
Ryan, along with Umix founders, Richard Leslie and
Brandon Sutton, have launched another wildly successful
party series, UMIXer, which is rapidly spreading to new
markets throughout the US.
