HDU's first album, this post-rock New Zealand act has continued to swim
the undercurrents of experimental noise-rock since 1995, delivering world
class disjointed and sublime melodies in the vein of Godspeed You Black
Emperor and others, though it should be said HDU are far from a clone
having developed on the base of the already chaotic offerings of rock
history that New Zealand developed with labels like Flying Nun Records.
This album delivers a raw and restrained approach of lost guitars meshing
with totemic ritualistic drumming and strangled vocals, of which HDU
consider as perhaps the last and least most important instrument of their
ensemble. Distorted and delicate, the album traipses what was a new path
in the mid-90's, artistic, aesthetic, call it what you will, HDU stand
apart from being a rock or indie band by their sheer isolationist fugues.

MORAL DiSCLAiMER: We are very aware of the fact that our releases
contribute to the growing sale losses of record companies.
Unfortunately our style primarily targets small, independant labels
that need sales to survive.
For these reasons we ask you not to distribute this release on public
sites or P2P tools; if more and more receive their music from the net,
artists and labels will have to face even less sells than nowadays.
Please do not consider this release as a substitute to the original, but
only as a way to check out and learn about new music.
We absolutely do not approve of DJs or other individuals that earn
money from pirated music - Don't let them get their hands on it!
By buying the albums you like you disperse the guilt we feel by
releasing this music - Enjoy the music and be fair with the artists!
YOUR support is required to keep them financially alive and producing!
