goes back to when no one knew who green velvet was
(there's one or two of his early tracks mixed in there)
is a nice and broad mix made by good ol'

it was rumored at the time to become MB006 but it never
made it,so it stayed in the crates of those lucky people
to own a copy

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Robert De La...
Gauthier has been solely djing for a living since 1980. He
started as resident in many important clubs in Montreal,
then, around the world since 1992. Playing a lot in
Germany, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Austria at raves and
clubs.He always has been innovative and creative, not
being afraid to play new styles unknown to the crowd, and
was one of the first dj to play HOUSE music in normal
clubs in Montreal and contributed greatly in starting the
techno scene in Montreal. He lived in new york, in 88-89,
which influenced him greatly, going to clubs like Sound
Factory (now Twilo), Red Zone, Pyramid, etc..., hearing
Frankie Knucles, David Morales, Junior Vasquez, Roger
Sanchez, Timmy Regisford,etc...
Starting 1993 to 2001 Robert De La... Gauthier is based in
Maastricht in the Netherlands. He still influences the
nightlife around the world with his regular visits in
several clubs, always bringing fresh, new, and exciting
music from Europe to America, and from America back to
Europe. One important quality from Robert is to be able to
adapt and play in America with a Europeen influence and
the other way around in Europe blending the diffrent
styles. He dj's mostly with vinyls and uses also cds. Very
useful since he makes is own edits of tracks, plays his
own unreleased productions, or special remixed versions,
or unreleased stuff off cds. He wrote for magasine "Trance
5000" (Montreal) in 92, Streetsound (Toronto at the time),
then wrote for Raveline and Loop in Germany, but stopped
to concentrate on music production.
Co-owner and co-founder (with Etienne Overdijk) of 3
record labels, for wich he produces together with Etienne
under many diffrent aliases.One used to be called
MIRROBALL RECORDS (now called GLITTERBALL RECORDS). The
other labels are HIGH HEELS (with moto:"If it ain't got
heels it ain't kickin'!"), & HARD HEELS .These labels are
for the different other styles Robert & Etienne likes and
ventures into. He also did some remix projects and has
releases on other labels,Compiled and mixed 5 double
compilations.
Playing a variety of styles(when he can), his mixing
skills, and playing with the crowd is really Robert's
strong point as he can dj from house to techno in it's
various forms, depending on the times and venues.He
sometimes likes to do either a strickly house set or
techno, but when given a set long enough ( 4-6 hours or
longer with a good crowd), he prefers, and really is a
master at it, being able to play a mixture of diffrent
stuff. Robert's experience as a dj (25 years) makes him
very comfortable, spontaneous and creative.He doesn't have
to concentrate much on techniques, and that gives him the
chance to entertain and have fun with the crowd in front
of him, having the flair to play the right track at the
right moment to create some magic and make the crowd go
whoooooooo!!!!! He has presence, loves playing and getting
a reaction from the crowd, knows how to go from moods to
moods creating a good vibes where ever he passes by and is
able to work with a sound system, because according to
him, that's his musical instrument.Knowing how loud to
play and when to bring the sytem up or down at the right
moment, and not overdoing it with the equalisation, are
very important feature of an experienced dj has he is.
