| Mandre is the secret and masked funk-fusion/jazz alias of |
| multi-instrumentalist Andre Lewis, his three releases under the |
| Mandre alias on Motown in the late 70s (1977-79) are some of the |
| best work I heard in the genre. The sound is a bit reminiscent of |
| Sly, and mid seventies Herbie Hancock (Thrust, Manchild) among |
| others. |
| For more info on his other projects check www.allmusic.com, search |
| for mandre. He actually spells it with a ' above the "e" but |
| apparently not on the internet ;o) |

| When I hear this album I can't help but think of all the modern |
| producers of today that have been inspired by stuff like this. |
| Hope you enjoy this as much as I do, and remeber to support the |
| artist, pick up a vinyl copy in some second hand store ;o) |
