│ Prometheus is Benji Vaughan, one of Twisted's main artists ││
│ and a highly prolific producer; appearing as PROMETHEUS on ││
│ Dragonfly and Karmaflage Records, as Contraband with DERMID ││
│ on Backroom Beats Records, PROCESS (with Sean Williams), ││
│ CITIZEN KANED (with Nick Doof), CYBER BABAS (with Raja Ram) ││
│ and, most recently, with Simon Posford as YOUNGER BROTHER ││
│ who are producing an album for us in the new year. Benji has ││
│ received critical acclaim for his soundtrack to the recent ││
│ Nike advert receiving a prize.at the award ceremony. His ││
│ dance track 'Monkey Business' a dub cut up of a Pete Roots ││
│ classic ska track has also been doing the rounds in town ││
│ with Radio play on Radio 1 and heavy promotion across the ││
│ board. His progressive tracks with Joe Williams's aka The ││
│ Light under the name JUNK has been nominated Single of the ││
│ Month in Mixmag. So PROMETHEUS is as prolific as ever and ││
│ showing that he is not just a trance musician but a very ││
│ talented all round producer in his own right who is coming ││
│ back to his roots - trance. Tracklisting: 'Snakes & Ladders' ││
│ - Another infectious beauty from Benji Vaughan this bouncer ││
│ is literally bubbling over with vitality as it works its way ││
│ through five minutes of squelches, pounding kicks, and ││
│ spiralling synthesisers briefly catching breath with a ││
│ spacey break down in the middle before returning to the ││
│ groove where a classic arpeggio lead line takes things one ││
│ stage further. The whole sound is underscored by a metallic ││
│ industrial sound that works its own percussive magic; this ││
│ track really has to be heard to be believed. 'Number ││
│ Cruncher' - This next track is altogether tougher and harder ││
│ than the first, stomach wrenching basses balance against the ││
│ trebled electrics of a high synth line, before the shift and ││
│ a series of thrashing percussive rhythms churn the very ││
│ ground breaking through into a spiralling funk beat ││
│ accompanied by a wave of screeching sounds till the steadily ││
│ more relaxed tones of the track finally settle in the dust. ││
