│ Andrew Broder, the mastermind behind the Fog, recently announced │
│ that his upcoming EP, titled Hummer, will be his last release on │
│ Ninja Tune. │
│ │
│ "Regarding Ninja [Tune], it was tough to not feel like the weird │
│ kid on that label. I felt like my music probably wasn't reaching │
│ the audience it ought to have been reaching. Ninja Tune are very │
│ good people, things just didn't quite work out how they or I │
│ would have liked," Broder said. │
│ │
│ Broder is still in the "decision-making" process as far as │
│ finding a new label to call home. In the meantime, he plans to │
│ complete some small self-released releases and hopes to have a │
│ new label worked out shortly. │
│ │
│ Fog released both his self-titled debut and last year's │
│ follow-up, Ether Teeth, on Ninja Tune. Hummer will see release │
│ February 10. │
│ │
│ │
│ I can certainly understand why Fog didn't get too much attention │
│ on Ninja, Andy is waaaaaay off for them. I'm glad he is │
│ leaving. │
│ │
│ Now, go buy Hyme's Basement (Why? and Andy), and both of Andy's │
│ hip hop remix eps, cause they're good! │

│ Hummer was written and performed by Andrew Broder over the late │
│ summer and early autumn of 2003. It was recorded at home and at │
│ Third Ear studios. It was produced by Andew Broder and Tom "I │
│ make good coffee" Herbers, who also mastered the thing. Michael │
│ Lewis played his saxophone on "Whom That Hits Walls." Julie │
│ Wellman (his girlfriend, I think) played wooden spoon and │
│ skillet on "I, Baby," guitar on the short song (haha) and sang │
│ prettily on "Hummer." │
│ " │
│ │
│ This CD was made in "Canada, where I am moving if this │
│ motherfucker gets re-elected." │
│ │
│ Word-fucking-up. │
