│ Digital Structures and Iboga records are residents of two different │
│ countries, Sweden and Denmark, but with their headquarters in the two │
│ towns of Malmoe and Copenhagen, they are only 40 minutes away from │
│ eachother, divided only by water. Since late 19th century there has been │
│ the idea to link the two cities on each side of the narrow sound but it │
│ wasn't until july 2000 that this plan was realized and the "Oresund" │
│ bridge was opened. │
│ │
│ The region of Oresund has always had an active cultural exchange but │
│ with the bridge being built we decided it was time to build a cultural │
│ bridge between the underground movements of the two cities and so the │
│ idea for Cross Link was born. │
│ │
│ Psytrance and trance has together with the other genres of electronic │
│ dancemusic evolved fast and in so many directions. The evolution that │
│ has become the style of our labels have reached recognition around the │
│ world and our acts and djs travel around the world to perform our sound. │
│ But to move the style forward and to contribute to the evolution of this │
│ music one must not rest so this project and co-operation is our way of │
│ doing that. Our intention is that this will only be a taster for │
│ projects to come and that we as labels and our artists will get │
│ inspiration for individual develoment beyond the realm of psytrance as │
│ we know it. We invite you all on this journey for musical evolution!! │

│ At last an album based on sound geographical principles. Bear with me. │
│ Digiboga is the psychedelic lovechild of Sweden's Digital Structures and │
│ Denmark's Iboga. The Scandinavian pals have teamed up mirroring a │
│ physical bridge (the Oresund, opened in 2000, for those taking notes) │
│ that links Malmo and Copenhagen. With me so far? What we have then is a │
│ unification of two of the world's finest and most characteristic labels, │
│ and happily it's a joy. Son Kite (whose brilliant Reewo opens │
│ proceedings), Ticon and P-Woland represent the Digital Structures │
│ Stable, with Iboga's ambassadors including Beat Bizarre, Llopis and the │
│ wonderful Reefer Decree (whose Curved Air, featured in original form and │
│ remixed to vampiric effect by P-Woland, is a highlight.) There's simply │
│ too much to talk about here - everybody remixes everybody else, across │
│ 16 tracks on 2 CD's (with vinyl junkies kept happy with a remixes-only │
│ doublepack.) Let's just say that if that progressive, slightly │
│ paranoid-making, addictive scando sound does it for you, this is the │
│ icing on the cake. Lovely stuff. 4/5. │
