█ Garage, Punk, Surf, Horror and Sci-Fi themes, and █
█ even Russian folklore - these crazy italian cats █
█ incorporate a lot of different styles into their █
█ organ driven rock, along with a good chunk of general █
█ weirdness. Most of the times they do it damn solid, █
█ and at roughly 32 minutes for 17 songs "Woodoo" █
█ seldomly gets boring. Imagine early Makers trying to █
█ sound like the Beguiled circa "Blue Dirge" and you'll █
█ get a pretty good idea on what John Woo is about. █
█ There's a couple of so-so tracks but enough cool ones █
█ to keep your interest up all the way through. "Bora █
█ Bora" and "Won't You Tell Me" are great garage ravers █
█ while "Hypnovista" is doing just what the song title █
█ implies. What's really distracting, though, is the █
█ muffled sound on this record. I don't know how they █
█ managed to cut off all the high peaks but █
█ unfortunatley they did. With a better production job █
█ I'd given "Woodoo" a rating of 4 red squares instead █
█ of only three - maybe next time. █
