   First CD of contemporary music pressed in France -the Concert
   Imaginaire- the first in a series of CDs devoted to musique acousmatique
   (many national and international awards, almost 50 references in 1997).

   Pierre Schaeffer was doing research work on the use and transformation
   of sound recordings when he "invented" concrete music in 1948. In 1958
   he set up the Musical Research Group (GRM), which two years later joined
   the Research Department of Radio Television Franτaise (RTF). Then in
   1975, when the old ORTF was broken up, GRM was taken in by INA.
