│ In 1995 Yaniv Tal & Alex Kuhl founded the label Hadshot Haheizar (in │
│ Hebrew: Alien's News) in Munich, Germany. The reason for this was they │
│ got really bored as DJs with the sound that most of the labels where │
│ releasing at that time and just thought they can do it better. To make │
│ it more interesting they decided the label will not have a real name, │
│ well anyway, not in any known language. After long meditating and trying │
│ to establish contact with other beings (through all sorts of means), the │
│ guys came up with this: , meaning: alien's news, in the new secret │
│ alphabet/language of theirs. If you'll check it out, you'll find secret │
│ messages in that alphabet on the covers of the label's records. Actually │
│ the name Hadshot Haheizar came only because the distributors didn't know │
│ how to specify the label on their news-lists and ask for a name, as they │
│ didn't want to reveal the real name, they gave them the Hebrew │
│ translation. │
│ Hadshot concentrated at first on releasing experimental and underground │
│ projects, and slowly got the reputation of the strange weirdo label from │
│ Munich with the holographic signs. As weird stuff does not always sells │
│ well, and since the guys didn't feel like going bankrupt, the opened │
│ Balloonia ltd., that concentrates on licensing CDs from Israeli labels │
│ and releasing them on vinyl format for Europe. │
│ When in the end of 1997 the psy-market went down a bit and there were a │
│ lot of problems with distribution, they decided to open their own │
│ distribution together with Bianca Nusbaumer (Djane U.F.Oria), under the │
│ name Cosmophilia. After some massive work the company became the biggest │
│ specialized psychedelic distributor in the world. At this point as │
│ Yaniv's music style and Alex┤s went in such different ways, they decided │
│ to split. Alex turned to minimal techno, and created a new label called │
│ Parasound. Yaniv took over Hadshot Haheizar & Balloonia, and together │
│ with Bianca concentrated on making Cosmophilia bigger and more │
│ professional. │
│ Today Hadshot Haheizar still makes major effort in searching for new │
│ experimental and kicking psychedelic or techno sound, while acting also │
│ as a publishing and booking company. Balloonia still brings Israeli │
│ labels' CDs in vinyl format to the world, and even got some exclusive │
│ acts in this style. Cheese is another experiment, a sub-label that deals │
│ with club trance and percussive house. │
│ Cosmophilia is still the biggest psy distributor, and also getting into │
│ other electronic music styles like ambient, techno, trance, club trance │
│ and house. │
