3 slices of deep and delicious house from Andrew Macari (Large, Toka,
Nordic Trax) on his Grab Recordings debut. First up is "Low Down"
with a bumping bassline, chunky beats, moody Rhodes play and laidback
synths making this a true late night performer. On the reverse,
"Strength To Strength" opens with a barrage of percussion and a solid
kickdrum before a great keys line takes the track into groovy
territory, sounding like Metro Area in their funk-retro-disco mode.
Completing this killer EP is "Deep Love", a jazzy late night groover.
West Coast based British DJ/Producer ANDREW MACARI from Nottingham,
England. Previously of producing groups Flow and Toka Project. Solo
releases and collaborations with Jay-J (Moulton Studios SF). Owner of
independent labels Filter Flow Recordings and Greenhouse Recordings.
Based in Los Angeles since 1999, he continues to define his career
with a sensibility that reflects the influence of the West Coast
scene on his British Deep and Tech House roots. As a result, his
ever-growing discography spans a wide variety of House styles
including Deep, Tech, Latin and Chicago-style. His DJ sets are
characterized by intense energy and long, well-executed mixes.
