the duo of rene and angela were at their peak as hit composers and
performers on their debut album for mercury. it included the huge
hits "your smile" and "save your love (for #1)," both r&b
chart-toppers, plus another top 10 hit in "i'll be good." although
they've never been credited with the achievement, long before the
new jack swing formula of pairing a rapper with a vocalist or
vocal group became fashionable, "save your love (for #1)" featured
a guest rap from kurtis blow.
