█ GRAVEWORM are back û and almost back to the roots! █
█ █
█ The Italian dark metal outfit delivers once again █
█ a melodic, mystic and dark masterpiece. The sequel █
█ to the successful "Diabolical Figures" album from █
█ 2009 will be called "Fragments of Death". The █
█ album was recorded in July 2011 at the ôDream █
█ Sound Studiosö in Munich, and mastered by Jan █
█ Vacik. The songs are about the death in its █
█ thousand faces, which is also reflected in the █
█ album title and cover art. Musically, the album █
█ can be seen as a mixture of the best of the last █
█ four records, with some old school roots and █
█ definitive darker than its predecessors. █
█ Even before GRAVEWORM released any demo they got █
█ signed by ôSerenades Recordsö, who saw an █
█ incredible show of the band close to their █
█ hometown Brunico. A demo was produced straight █
█ after, featuring classic hymns like ôEternal █
█ Windsö or ôWhen The Sky Turns Blackö, which were █
█ featured on their debut album ôWhen DaylightÆs █
█ Goneö. A great record, even more in the Gothic █
█ Metal vein, which increased a huge interest within █
█ the scene. █
█ A tour with CREMATORY, THERION & LAKE OF TEARS █
█ followed and proved the enormous power the band █
█ creates on stage. Shortly after the tour the MCD █
█ ôUnderneath The Crescent Moonö followed, featuring █
█ the bands hymn ôAwaiting The Shiningö, as well as █
█ the classical version of the track ôAwakeö sung by █
█ Sarah Jezebel Deva (CRADLE OF FILTH and THERION), █
█ who became close friends with the sympathic █
█ Italians after their tour. █
█ GRAVEWORM soon became popular, played the ôWacken █
█ Festivalö in 1998 and started the songwriting for █
█ their second album ôAs The Angel Reached The █
█ Beautyö, released in 1999. A tour with MYSTIC █
█ CIRCLE, STORMLORD and SUIDAKRA was done, followed █
█ by another one together with AGATHODAIMON and █
█ SIEBENBURGEN, as well as festival shows at the █
█ ôWave Gotik Treffenö and others. █
█ In 2001 ôScourge Of Maliceö was released, █
█ featuring their most brutal material, including █
█ the IRON MAIDEN cover version ôFear Of The Dark. A █
█ first headliner tour was played, supported by █
█ VINTERSORG, DORNENREICH and DARKWELL, which turned █
█ out to be very successful. The band played the █
█ ôSummer Breeze Festivalö in 2001, as well as a █
█ headliner show at the Italian ôBadia Rocksö in █
█ 2002. GRAVEWORM decided to sign with NUCLEAR BLAST █
█ and started the production of their fourth album █
█ ôEngraved In Blackö. █
█ ôNutopia the following album shows the band in a █
█ more midtempo way but with some hits like ôNever █
█ enoughö and ôHateful designö, which became █
█ classics in their live shows. █
█ The next output ôCollateral Defectö shows the band █
█ in a new way, with some modern influences due to █
█ the fact of a new songwriter. Again this album █
█ contained a cover song, this time was a classic █
█ one from the 80s Bonny Tyler ôI need a heroö. █
█ The last output ôDiabolical Figuresö in 2009, █
█ became an even heavier and more intense record, █
█ compared to the band previous ones, but still with █
█ all typical GRAVEWORM trademarks. Once again █
█ GRAVEWORM did another cover-version, this time █
█ ôMessage in a bottleö of the 80Æs pop act Police, █
█ which might turn out to be a club-hit all over the █
█ world. █
█ Finally with ôfragments Of Deathö, GRAVEWORM are █
█ back on the way to the top. The limited first █
█ edition also contains a new version of their █
█ all-time hymn ôAwakeö. █
