▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Notes And Comments About The Release ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

This compilation features twenty songs from the first musical chapter
of Island Records' history. Beginning with the label's founding in
Jamaica in 1959 - an exciting time in Jamaican music, when old and
new styles were converging and mutating into new sounds - this set
highlights exceptional material released during Island's first five
years in operation. The tracks included here showcase the musical
heritage of Jamaican Music and Island Records from 1959-1964 with the
raw power and energy these great performances deserve.

(This compilation was prepared from the best possible sources, some
which were 45 rpm singles. Every effort was made to restore these
sources without compromising the original sound. In some instances
surface noise or other imperfections may still be audible.)

-- Respect to JahMon, for the person himself and for sharing his
knowledge and experience always and anytime. Respect to all of RAC!
