▓████▓▌ Sera' coupled with 'Happy Christmas War is Over'. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ The former made famous by Doris Day (also now a ▓▌
▓████▓▌ well known Football refrain) and the latter made ▓▌
▓████▓▌ famous by its writers John Lennon and Yoko Ono. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Advertised in the NME on 10th July 1993 as 'The K. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Foundation presents The Red Army Choir performing ▓▌
▓████▓▌ K. Cera Cera (War Is Over If You Want It)' that was ▓▌
▓████▓▌ pretty much what it is. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ▓▌
▓████▓▌ The K Foundation said they would not release the ▓▌
▓████▓▌ record until world peace arrived; in the meantime ▓▌
▓████▓▌ they would play it at only certain major events. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ After failing to get it played at the end of that ▓▌
▓████▓▌ year's Glastonbury Festival and FA Cup Final, it ▓▌
▓████▓▌ was heard at the Pheonix Festival to the confusion ▓▌
▓████▓▌ of all present. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ▓▌
▓████▓▌ In true KLF form the recording was released as a ▓▌
▓████▓▌ limited edition in Israel only (in November 1993). ▓▌
▓████▓▌ This was as a result of the remarkable peace accord ▓▌
▓████▓▌ between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Organisation which happened in September 1993. And ▓▌
▓████▓▌ so, the recording money couldn't buy was now out. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Although given you had to fill in a mail-order form ▓▌
▓████▓▌ in one of two Israeli newspapers (one Israeli, the ▓▌
▓████▓▌ other Palestinian) and it was limited to 3000 ▓▌
▓████▓▌ copies, it was not easy to get! Perhaps it is ▓▌
▓████▓▌ better to let the CD insert explain the rationale ▓▌
▓████▓▌ for release. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ▓▌
▓████▓▌ This enormously hard to get recording was released ▓▌
▓████▓▌ on NMC records (NMC KCC 1-2 if you feel like having ▓▌
▓████▓▌ a go at ordering one on import or something) on CD ▓▌
▓████▓▌ and cassette single only. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ▓▌
▓████▓▌ So what is it like? Well, starting off with a ▓▌
▓████▓▌ string opening and a doubtless Russian-sounding ▓▌
▓████▓▌ choir singing the first few verses of 'Que Sera ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Sera', it soon develops into a rather glorious, but ▓▌
▓████▓▌ still orchestral if it is any type of music, ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ending. The Red Army Choir let rip like they really ▓▌
▓████▓▌ mean it as they return into the 'War is over...' ▓▌
▓████▓▌ parts. Then back to 'Que..' and back into 'War...' ▓▌
▓████▓▌ coupled with 'Justified!'-type shouts of 'K!' the ▓▌
▓████▓▌ recording peacefully comes to an end. Really ▓▌
▓████▓▌ destined to play quite loud I would say. Altogether ▓▌
▓████▓▌ an awe-inspiring piece of music." ▓▌
