"Safety Scissors controller Mathew Curry has released
some crazy shizzle on his Proptronix label, and it
hasn't stopped yet. My Robot Friend deliver 6 of the
craziest tracks that include a spannered Matmos remix,
heading off with "Why Don't You Call Me Back" a jaunty
jazz rumble with a classic walking bassline enhanced by
all manner of cut up samples and rhodes piano while a
semi mournful vocalist intones his song over the bluesy
track, a funny and crazy start. Matmos take the reins
and remix the title track turning it into a neo acid cut
with ringing percussion and heavy sub bass that
compliments the bubbly acid perfectly, a crazy alarm
style synth takes over half way through and the track
descends into madness while Matmos tweak away in the
background, check. Also check out the "I Am A Robot"
remix for a descent into madness, with its lazy vocals
and plodding beat, it lamost reminds me of a Wevie
Stonder track with its zany construction. Non stop
