Maybe he's had the advantage of conquering
the rock scene on a continent whose idea of
a popular musical import is Men at Work, but
Tommy Emmanuel, four-time winner of
Australia's Best Guitarist award, has helped
bring the art of rock guitar down under to a
higher level over his two-decade-long
career. How? Simply by bringing a sense of
jazz improvisation into a mix which also
includes blues, country, rock, classical,
and Spanish music. After years as a popular
sideman and ace songwriter, the two-time
ARIA (Aussie Grammys equivalent) award
winner launched his solo career in 1988 with
Up From Down Under. Among his seven discs
since then was his only previous stateside
foray, 1993's The Journey, which hit high on
Gavin and Radio & Records NAC airplay
charts. He has shown a mastery and affinity
for both electric and acoustic axes in the
kind of overall mix that smooth jazz lovers
find easy to swallow, but Emmanuel offers
more bite and adventure than most
like-minded releases in the genre. He darts
in a lot of directions, and that
willingness, while not yet making him any
sort of innovator on our shores, sets him
apart from those who make their marks just
playing the same old lines.

aAF was created in Jan 2001 to fill a void left in the scene
by groups who would refuse to release anything but current
year music.Well since that time we have been rocking the
scene with classic rock rips.We have made classic music
mainstream in the scene and have been on top in that area as
the number one group in classic rips. We finished 2001 with
3800 rips.As we moved forward in 2002 we found we were also
releasing alot of quality 2k2 rips and saw that we were competing
in that area.In 2002 we finished with over 5000 rips.In 2003 we
plan to move forward and continue to release "THE NEW STUFF" and
strive to be on top in 2k3 rips.We will also continue to remain
on top like we have for 2 years in the classic rock scene.
