     │       Blues, boogie, bop - Texas legend Eddie Cleanhead Vinson         │
     │       was the man who most represented the kind of musician who        │
     │       had no barriers. Mr Cleanhead grew up with two rich              │
     │       traditions - downhome Blues and southwest, swinging Jazz.        │
     │       A little later his alto playing fell under the influence         │
     │       of Charlie Parker. Eddie had Rhythm & Blues hits, wrote          │
     │       some of the most downhome and funky blues lyrics yet also        │
     │       gave John Coltrane his first break. The two studio               │
     │       sessions here were recorded in London in 1980 and 1982 and       │
     │       find our man still at the height of his powers.                  │
