│║ æAshes To AshesÆ meanwhile is the fourth DVD ║ │
│║ within seven years by Candlemass but itÆs the ║ │
│║ first on which you can see and hear Robert Lowe. ║ │
│║ This DVD contains the show the band did on the ║ │
│║ Sweden Rock Festival in 2009 and a show in ║ │
│║ Athens in the same year. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ To be honest these recordings are not really ║ │
│║ special when you compare them to most other ║ │
│║ DVDÆs these days, these are just live ║ │
│║ registrations of a band. Additionally I can add ║ │
│║ that the Athens recordings have been æmessed ║ │
│║ withÆ; they seem like some old movie with that ║ │
│║ grainy style. Also the way Lowe presents himself ║ │
│║ on stage is a bit pale compared to his ║ │
│║ predecessor, Messiah Marcolin. Musically thereÆs ║ │
│║ nothing wrong with his performance though, he ║ │
│║ simply is another person who has different stage ║ │
│║ antics. The choice of songs is great though with ║ │
│║ old as well as new material and the Sweden Rock ║ │
│║ show even contains a Rainbow cover in the form ║ │
│║ of æKill The KingÆ. The interview, added as a ║ │
│║ bonus, done by a Greek magazine is nice but far ║ │
│║ from spectacular. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ For fans of Candlemass this DVD is of course ║ │
│║ okay and those fans can also spend their money ║ │
│║ on the different editions because next to the ║ │
│║ regular DVD that also contains the Sweden Rock ║ │
│║ show on CD, there is also a digipack where only ║ │
│║ the packaging differs and both shows are ║ │
│║ released on vinyl too. ║ │
