Not Content with having recorded two albums æThe Main EventÆ and
æSuperhero MusicÆ, and touring the four corners of the world (from
Russia, South Africa, America to Australia and everywhere in
between) the boys left this earth to record with The Big Red Nebula
Band!
Scratch DJ Peter Parker and electric bass wizard Sneaky have
created the king of third albums. This album is influenced by
obscure Kraut Rock, rare 80Æs electro, hip hop, Funk and is
described by Parker as ôDirty Progressive Soulful Electroö.
To achieve this masterpiece Parker scratched through a vocoder,
Sneaky ran his electric bass through all sorts of effects and
Parker even created percussion by painstakingly making æscratch
overdubsÆ to produce a unique work.
Having faked their own deaths at the end of their second album
æSuperhero MusicÆ Peter Parker and Sneaky were blasted off into
space in metal coffins . The beginning of their third album
æFingathing And The Big Red Nebula BandÆ finds them hurtling
towards the sun. By chance their coffins fall into a new spacetime
continuum called the Red Nebula (æWalk In SpaceÆ). The coffins are
found by a giant robot who æreanimatesÆ the duo (æReanimoÆ).
Meanwhile on a desolate planet, their intrepid friend Mista Fist,
(a small fist-like character who has appeared in all their artwork)
is wandering around, he opens a door and upon going through it, the
haze of the Red Nebula hits him, he learns that Fingathing are
alive and well and recording with the Red Nebula Band! æOpen A
DoorÆ and æThemes From The Big RedÆ are ô a progressive mixture of
powerful breaks, electronics, cuts and melodyö
What follows is a journey with Fingathing through the Red Nebula,
where you will meet a giant clockwork baby built by Whistles the
tin robot, who lives in a planet that is a giant babyÆs head (æBig
Bang)Æ, where, if you ôlisten carefully you can hear the baby
winding down at the end of the track. ô
The first track that the duo record with The Nebula Band is a cover
of a Fingathing track æHazeÆ û a track that is reincarnated in both
of the previous two albums . You will stand aghast as you observe
an alien attack in æRock The Whole PlanetÆ û described by Parker as
an ôIn yer face destructive alien invasionö.
Avoid getting run over by joyriding space youths in mini æpodsÆ who
in æCluster BusterÆ drive around generally being a nuisance, check
them getting arrested by the police at the end as the strings come
in. Described by the boys as a öDaytona style demolition derby in
Spaceös
Feel sorrow as you hear an alien SOS in the emotional and melodic
æLady NebulaÆ visit an alien fashion show (æMusic to Watch Aliens
ByÆ). Or stay a while on æSynergyÆ, (which is Parkers favourite
track). Accompany him as you watch millions of mechanical ants work
together and build their cities.
Finally æReturn To ErtÆ, the boys hurtle towards earth and go off
