| The seminal electro-funk outfit from Detroit returns with the |
| second album. äGalactic Ass Creatures From Uranusô is a true |
| masterpiece that spans a full variety of minimal Techno, dirty |
| P-Funk, raw hip-smart booty beats and relaxed downbeat electronic |
| grooves - all spiced up with a healthy portion of humor, cartoon |
| sexuality and the search for the perfect booty. The vocoder |
| pitched vocals by Paris The Black Fu and the other odd characters |
| mark their destinctive signature sound without being limited to |
| that. |
| Smoothly starting with äLanding in Detroitô the second track äGod |
| Impostorsô already is a pure funky statement, before the emotional |
| Electro track äSurrenderô leads over to Big Onion. äIf you like |
| the way I drop my funk: just shake it!ô. Do we need to say more |
| about this hypnotic minimal technotrack? Next up is the darker |
| side of the album with äDefinition of Sickô and äDead Presidentsô, |
| before the epic äTig OæBake Fittiesô lays out a downtempo funk ode |
| to natural body parts. The beautifully gentle lounger äBite The |
| Pillow Talkô lets you take breath for some more punchy booty beats |
| on äFreakô and äWeed in the Kitchenô. äThe Clapperô picks up on |
| the sleeve design and reports from another alien intrusion in that |
| typical Detroit Grand Pubahs style. Already intoducing Dick Cannon |
| (äBite the Pillow Talkô, äTraining With Dick Cannonô) Bill Crosby |
| (äWeed In The Kitchenô) and Dirty Elvis DePorno (äFreakô) amongst |
| Paris The Black Fu we also meet again Nurse Hurse, a charakter |
| that was already involved in the debut album. Her äJack Moveô is |
| indeed a jacking anthem. Finally the hypnotising äNovacaneô is |
| setting a speech by Malcolm X to music. Founded in 1998 the Pubahs |
| group around producer and vocalist Paris The Black Fu and his |
| forked personalities. Already their first single äSandwichesô |
| became a huge worldwide clubhit overnight and made it into the |
| Billboard dance charts as well as in the UK Top20 salescharts. |
| The album äFunk All Yæallô has been released in 2001 on the now |
| defunct Jive Electro imprint with great success. Since then the |
| Pubahs completed a world tour and started working on äGalactic Ass |
| Creatures From Uranusô. |
| Again the new album is brimfull of straight forward booty tracks, |
| raw Funk and weird skits, but this time also relaxed downbeat |
| electronic grooves enrich the Pubahæs sound cosmos and make the |
| äGalacitic Ass Creatures From Uranusô a state of the art |
| electronic album and great fun to listen to. |
| Already the first 12ô outtake (The Clapper feat. Jesper DahlbΣck |
| remix, pfr38) from the album stired quite a buzz and made it into |
| many clubcharts including the official German Dance charts. The |
| next single äBig Onionô (feat. Joakim remix, pfr43) will be |
| released in March and will come with a video to vibe up for the |
| album.s |
| The most prominent guest musicians involved in the album are Scott |
| Sumner (engineering) and Randall G. Lynch (guitar) who are regular |
| studio musicians for George Clinton. As outstanding as the music |
| is the artwork which is based on sketches by Paris the Black Fu |
| himself and pictures the attack of the galactic ass creatures." |
