▀ ▐ create a musical trip using Universal back catalogue ▌ ▀

▀ ▐ too...WOW! Carte blanche to mix up pretty much anything ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ I wanted. With this kind of permission I couldn't ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ believe my luck. The first thing I did after the call ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ was create dream play lists on my iPod. Could I really ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ share all my fave tunes with the world? Would I really ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ be able to play a 'virtual' eclectic set in somebody's ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ car, or front room, or kitchen, or bedroom! ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ As a progression from 'The Sound of the Cosmos' triple ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ CD, I approached this project with a new perspective ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ and set myself a simple brief: create two CD's that ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ would reflect a "Middleton eclectic party set" and a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ "deep, sexy, blissed out downtempo set" both more or ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ less defining my ever expanding musical tastes. I ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ wasn't interested in competing with those mediocre DJ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Soundalike mixes chock full of soul less house and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ breaks or those excruciatingly, dull chillout comps. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ The focus would be on great music riot a fickle modern ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ dancefloor. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ The first, a quick-fire house-party mash up of hard to ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ find jazz, funk and soul classics, rare and exotic ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ covers, punk funk and electro pop nuggets, hip hop, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ dancehall and drum and bass winners. Oh, and a few ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ exclusive anthems from current producers held in high ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ esteem. Crafted digitally using my own tempo and key ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ blending techniques, unique edits of tracks all ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ combined with subliminal nostalgic sfx, theme tunes and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ soundtracks that I would typically throw into a live ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ mix with comedy timing. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ The second: a more refined, reflective and relaxing ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ affair. A choice blend of exquisite electronic and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ acoustic compositions, abundant with warmth, light, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ love and positive energy. I deliberately and selfishly ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ wanted to slow the tempo down over the course of the CD ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ to create the perfect aural seduction. Perhaps the ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ soundtrack to a very intimate evening with someone ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ special? Like dining at Gordon Ramsay's and spending a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ night at the Hempel Hotel; refined taste, aesthetics, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ luxury and comfort. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ A minor gripe; I would have loved to have included more ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ of the 'big names'. Artists that really inspired me ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ when I was growing up. But as you might imagine they ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ wouldn't give permission or demanded ridiculous ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ advances. Shame on you all! Its only music and surely ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ its there to be heard? I might have been able to have ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ given you, yes YOU Mr Rockstar the opportunity to reach ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ a new audience and earn you even more money!! Moan ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ over...it meant I had to select more obscure music that ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ had a pop sensibility or in most cases source fresh and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ original cover versions instead. Much more fun! ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ I put much time, research, exploration, sleepless ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ nights and love into the selection and blending of The ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Trip. In a confused, scary, lonely, often dark and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ negative world it's been quite a cathartic experience ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ creating these CD's. I feel more focused, happier, more ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ positive and clearer than ever before. A truly ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ wonderful opportunity to share some very special, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ deeply inspirational and uplifting music. In the words ▌ ▀
