the amalgamation of soundz have always made records that tru
thoughts have loved: their 'enchant me' track became a bona fide
anthem at the tru thoughts club night phonic:hoop. this three
tracker finds them exploring a variety of styles, in an intense,
uncompromising and very self-assured release; as gilles peterson
himself said, "taos have recorded for every cool independent label
and have now recorded for tru thoughts; a great 3 track ep".
'sharm' is a builder of a tune with heavy percussion, horns and
double bass, and has been rocking the tru thoughts djs' club sets
across the world, as well as the fabric sound system where taos
have a residency. 'nickels & dimes' is a jazzy atmospheric uptempo
tune with furious drums and vocal snippets. for those more
reflective moments there╣s the beautiful '4:31' which winds things
down in a mellow fashion. all in all, a very well produced record
with a very distinctive sound signature which prove that t.a.o.s.
are on fine form, so it's business as usual then.
