█ David Rothenberg, clarinetist, philosopher, student of world music, has █
█ dedicated this CD to Spanish existentialist writer Don Miguel de █
█ Unamuno, who wrote, "Chance is the inner rhythm of the world. Chance is █
█ the soul of poetry." And this CD is about chance encounters, with a █
█ rainforest bird, for example, or the driving beat of a Moroccan bendir, █
█ or the dripping sound of the Antarctic icecap melting, or a danceable █
█ groove, or a wash of electronic swells, and Rothenberg's clarinet soars █
█ lyrically through and around this audio slide show, searching for some █
█ way to save Earth for music, art, civilization. █
 █ █
█ Rothenberg (clarinet, keyboards, overtone flutes) is improvising with █
█ soundscapes (rather than chord changes) in a new kind of jazz, and he is █
█ joined by Amit Chatterjee (guitar), Brahim Fribgane (frame drum), Abdul █
█ X (oud), Steve Scholle (shakuhachi), and soundscapes by Doug Quin and █
 █ Chris Watson. █
