gabor deutsch had already made strange little trinkets for labels
like juice and compost by the time mole listening pearls found
him, proved that the inevitable discovery was a fortunate one.
unlike much of mole's roster, deutsch was confident with a large
variety of styles. one moment he could be steeped in painstakingly
nostalgic trip-hop and a kind of trio disco whimsy, the next
moment lush groove armada low beats filtered through logical idm
2-step. it didn't always fit together but, with such a sweet and
difficult arsenal of sounds, that was part of its appeal.
