█ First up is ôBluebeard,ö Danny NorburyÆs sound report to Angela CarterÆs █
█ book of the same name. The book is a series of adaptations of Charles █
█ PerraulÆs classic fairytales, and in the six tracks that Norbury has █
█ constructed; it would appear he was inspired by each of these retellings █
█ to create a commentary of his own. Listeners will enjoy some of the █
█ hallmarks of NorburyÆs canon; with the looping of cello stings a █
█ dominant force throughout. The accompaniment of piano on parts 1, 3 and █
█ 6 add credence to the fairytale roots of these scores, while the more █
█ ambient and moody atmosphere on part 5 increases the sense of depth of █
█ the compositions. █
