Release Notes:
--------
The Hangman Tree' perfectly showcases the musical tour de force that is Laura J
Martin, whose spell-binding vocals gently harmonise to the sound of mandolins
and harmonica before launching into a delightful and uplifting jamboree of
xylophone, beats, handclaps, kazoos and flute. As with all of Laura's tracks,
'The Hangman Tree' was self-produced by her own fair hands, with the majority of
instruments played by her also. Her voice is typically soft and willowy and
reminiscent of classic UK folk voices such as Jackie McShee (Pentangle), Judy
Dibble (Fairport Convention) and Vashti Bunyan.
