Freedom, What For? is the second single from Philosophy of Sound and features
remixes from Tronik Youth and A.N.D.Y. (new project from Andy Faisca,
ex-Mustang). Philosophy of what? What do you get when you combine a master's
degree in philosophy with a love of dance and electronic music production, and
throw in a finalist position at the International Songwriting Competition not
to mention a fascination with the latest forms of disco influenced sounds? A
project called Philosophy Of Sound - expect to hear hot disco guitar licks,
booty shaking bass and a selection of some of Melbourne's most intriguing
vocalists. Philosophy Of Sound is the musical brainchild of two Melbourne based
producers - Martin K and John Salmon. Martin is a philosopher turned music
producer originally hailing from Poland, who after spending some time in his
other project Koshowko has decided to start a ?beyond-disco? side project. John
has an international background as a DJ and producer. Philosophy of Sound has
recently released the single ?It Is Like That? on Discotexas, featuring a remix
by Ilya Santana (Eskimo Records) alongside the original version. The single
accompanied by an exciting video clip has become a staff pick on Beatport and
debuted on various charts straight away. Tracks from the single have also
appeared on various mixtapes by the likes of Mustang, Tronik Youth, Mighty
Mouse or Light Spectrum, and the DJ community?s feedback from the likes of The
Magician, Social Disco Club or Tiago has been nothing but positive. The recent
POS production can be also heard on their Dub Remix for the Polish marvels
Kamp! and the track ?Cairo? released by Discotexas. With a lot more yet to
come...
