Patrick is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter
originally from Montreal. As a teenager, he would often
rifle through his parentÆs vast vinyl collection. It was
then he developed a great love for classic soul, Gospel,
RnÆB, rockn'roll and blues. Some of Patrick's many
influences include Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway,
Fleetwood Mac, Lauryn Hill, Sly and the Family Stone, The
Rolling Stones and Bill Withers.
Growing up in Montreal, by the time he turned sixteen; he
was performing in local R&B shows, and was even featured as
guest vocalist on Canadian rap artist Karma Atchykah's
first album. Patrick was trained in classical voice at
Vanier College's music department. While studying there, he
gained invaluable experiences, including a singing spot in
a rock band and performances at various hip hop and RnB
shows.
It was in college that Patrick decided to form a band to
perform the songs that he'd been writing since his teenage
years. Once in University, Patrick was asked to perform at
the Montreal International Jazz Festival's 2006 Big Event
--- a Paul Simon Tribute Concert, featuring Daniel Lanois,
Sam Roberts, Colin James, Elvis Costello, Holly Cole, and
others. The show, attended by 150,000 people, was
subsequently broadcast on Bravo, ArTV and CBC television.
Having performed all across the new england area and
southern Canada, Patrick launched his first full length
album to a packed house on May 27th 2007 at Petit Campus in
Montreal. The album received notable airplay across USA,
Canada and France and prompted Patrick to tour during the
summer, including performances in the International
FestiBlues, Mont Tremblant Rhythm Festival, The Montreal
FunkFest and the CTV Television 'Telethon of the Stars'.
After signing with Justin Time Records in 2010, Patrick's
second disc æThe Electric Soul Kitchen Vol.1Æ, was release
in stores nationwide and online on March 8th 2011. Lehman
wrote, arranged and produced each and every track. The
first single "Prove Myself to You", which was co-produced
with Bill Swazlowski (April Wine, Marjo) has received major
airplay on radio CBC2 and national college radio. Within
just two weeks of its release, it had entered the top ten
urban/soul chart in Chart Attack magazine and entered in
several top ten college radio soul charts including CKXU-FM
and CJAM-FM.
In 2011 Patrick won first place at the International
FestiBlues 'Rising Star' award, performed at Canadian Music
Week and was asked to produce music for fashion designer
Elizabeth Kosich for her New York City Fashion Week 2012
runway show.
After several successful album release parties in Montreal,
Toronto and Ottawa, , Patrick is touring in support of his
latest release 'Electric Soul Kitchen Vol.2Æ which will be
released May 1st 2012. This is Patrick's third album and
features 11 brand new recordings which fuse the sounds of
classic soul and rockn'roll influences.
