Kel McKeown's latest EP finds the electronica survivor in fine form manhandling the
kind of dusty breaks his name has become synonymous with and fusing them with the
sort of disco-flecked synthesized buzzes you might expect to find on a Brainfeeder
12". This method works wonders for McKeown who gives the sound a breathy lightness
it's so often missing, injecting a lilting jazziness and a keen ear for harmony into
a sound that many have tried and few have nailed. Just for added value we've got two
remixes, a grimy, lo-fi treatment from Cupp Cave and a fantastic neon-lit synth heavy
jammer from Na∩ve Machine that sort of sounds like Goblin in a recording session with
Slum Village-era Dilla. Niiiice.
