an early pioneer of house music in france in the nineties, dj
gregory got his big break when invited to spin at the eternally
fashionable parisian club tgv - where beautiful people and deep
house are de rigour, and frankie knuckles, tedd patterson, kot &
     mousse t are regular guests.

gregory was an instant tgv favourite, and soon after was a regular
behind the decks at the rex, the palace and queen; playing
alongside daft punk & dimitri from paris. but it was friend and
contemporary dj deep who really led the career formation of the
young gregory. dj deep introduced gregory to the production
talents of st germain & shazz, and gregory was inspired to delve
into the studio and deliver music.

his first track was the keri chandler influenced 'no pain without
your love'. this was closely followed by his debut recording - in
collaboration with julien jabre - 'faithful'. both tracks were
released on esteemed label, source, to much acclaim and success.
some time later, gregory - via a chance meeting in a record store
     - hooked up with bob sinclar. realising the significant mutual
appreciation and respect, sinclar (who at that time was a hip-hop
man) invited gregory to release some tracks on his yellow
     productions imprint.

in 1997, gregory (as 'g') released 'the raw ep'. gregory & sinclar
continued their collaborative work in the studio, leading to the
production of 'tourment d'amour' and 'block party' for yellow. it
was 'block party' that inspired the africanism series, as well as
gregory's 'damelo' and 'tropical soundclash', which was originally
released on his own parisian label faya combo in 2002 and was then
     picked up by defected.
