Yes, IÆm talking about LydiaÆs Sleep. LydiaÆs Sleep are a band divided by the
biggest river in Portugal, the Tagus. Half of the band hails from Set·bal (a
city already mentioned in a previous article) and the other half from Caldas da
Rainha, a small student city located in the coast north of Lisbon. But that
doesnÆt stop them from creating some of the most exiting sounds IÆve heard in a
while.
With all of their members coming from their previous band - Chaos Led To Quiet -
they decided to stop playing introspective post-rock and began working on
something a little bit edgier. And by a little bit I mean like a TON more edgy.
They recently released an EP, entitled ôWiresö, which was recorded at the Cork
House Studios in Cascais. For those of you that arenÆt familiar with PortugalÆs
recording venues (which I guess is all of you), the Cork House is home to
legendary Engineer-Producer Chris Common, that you may dearly remember as being
the drummer from These Arms Are Snakes!
With reverb drenched guitars, epic passages and math-driven fills, LydiaÆs Sleep
are one of PortugalÆs biggest hopes on Post-Hardcore.
