earthbound released their first single äreggieæs escapeô in 1998
on straight ahead label and earned much attention from people like
gilles peterson, jazzanova, rainer trⁿby, alex attias and many
other djs from the music sceneæs eclectic corner. earthboundæs
roots go back to another project called natural high productions
with former partner robi insinna. as a dj team alex dallas and
robi insinna, tagged themselves as nhp, and organized the infamous
äspace is da placeô, änu*stepzô and äpure pressureô clubnights,
featuring guests like attica blues, kruder & dorfmeister, gilles
peterson, james lavelle, peshay, 4hero, photek, ltj bukem, roni
size and many others. nhp became a name synonymous with
cutting-edge eclectic club soundz in zurich. coincidently, as nhp
got ready to make the jump into producing they set up their studio
in the room next to alex gustafsonæs studio, a longtime fan of the
nhp clubnights. hearing each otheræs sound from the neighbouring
studios through a connecting door it was evident that the 3 needed
to join forces. the fruit of this joind venture became the
ätimebomb epô released on compost. nhp lasted another 2 years in
its original form before splitting up into äheadmanô (robiæs
project) and eartbound as the 2 alexes, releasing their sound on
ästraight aheadô label. as earthbound they follow their heart,
always on the run tou find new and progressive ideas. they remixed
varous people like beanfield, joakim lone octet, fauna flash,
amaka and leme. earthbounds pholosophy is the fusion of music they
love, they donæt try to be labelled, their goal is to be original
and of course they want their music to be driven by their
personality. earthboundæs aim is to create warm, organic and deep
music with a very programmed and electronic approach. they might
be considered by a lot of people as jazz, but for earthbound jazz
means the freedom to do whatever they want to do and go to new and
unknown musical levels. prepare for an uncompromising expirience!
