| Kenny Gino and Big Mike a.k.a. the Solid Gold Playaz both started |
| playing records in the late 70s/early 80's. They both seemed to |
| have a unique ability to program music to move the crowds that |
| would come to the ôred lightö basement parties in their |
| neighborhoods, and would later play some of the same clubs in the |
| Milwaukee area, as well as doing similar radio shows at the same |
| college. Having family from Chicago, who were DJ's and down with |
| some of the big guys at the time, heavily influenced our music |
| and production styles" both say. "Living so close to the city, we |
| could go down to all the legendary night spots. The Rainbow and |
| the Warehouse, the Box, the Shelter... places where you could |
| just feel the vibe. And you could hear guys like Farley Funkin' |
| Keith, Ron Hardy, and Jammin' Gerald (the Chicago DJ/producer who |
| is Kenny's cousin) play these incredible records. They both were |
| hooked on the house sound, and would bring it back to their home, |
| a small city named Racine, Wisconsin, located about an hour and |
| half north of Chicago. |
| They continued to develop their DJ and production skills into the |
| 90's, but musically, werent taking things very seriously until |
| they met Chicago producer Louis Bell. He introduced them to many |
| of the people who were building the mid-90's Chicago sound. |
| ôLouis gave us access access to places we hadnt been before. He |
| took us into the offices of Cajual/Relief Records and Underground |
| Construction, and suddenly we were face to face with guys who |
| were doing what we wanted to do Cajmere, Paul Johnson, Glen |
| Underground showing us that we could do this too. Kenny and Mike |
| decided to work seriously together, forming MindInfluence |
| MusicWorks, wanting to get their varying styles of music out to |
| the world. "We just started making tracks, and more tracks, and |
| more tracks sending them where ever we could, but nobody would |
| bite. We starting thinking that our music was just a little too |
| different from what was coming out at the time." Eventually they |
| would hook up with L.A Williams, who was looking for unexposed |
| producers for a new project he was doing. "L.A. was starting a |
| new label, and wanted to hear what we had. We sent him a couple |
| of tracks, he liked what he heard and released some music for us. |
| He showed us a few thingsà how the music industry was changing |
| and why that was not a bad thingà and with the music archive we d |
| built, and with what we had already been through, he encouraged |
| us to start our own label.". We did a few releases just to get |
| our name out, and soon we had some pretty big named DJs playing |
| our music. We had DJs actually looking for our records, and |
| telling us how much they liked out soundsà that just blew us |
| away, especially with very little promotion and in the limited |
| numbers we were pressingà our music just started to build a name |
| for itself.ö |

| Having gained a loyal following with releases on respected labels |
| like Soulfuric, Moods & Grooves, LoSonoFono (LSF), Loft 66, DNH, |
| Bumpin City, and Silver Network, we are in a position to put our |
| brand of dance music out to an even wider audience. And with what |
| we ve got planned, thatÆs a very good thing, because this is just |
| the beginning.ö |

| The second Solid Gold Playaz 12inch for kanzleramt is already |
| scheduled for autumn 2004 and an album might follow in Spring |
| 2005 !s |
