The unveiling of a new Patrice Baumel release is always a special occasion.
Not one to be caught up in music politics or the need to release a constant
stream of material, the German releases, when he is ready. So, whilst we
may have to wait, we take comfort in the certainty that we are about to
hear something specialà Last year Trouw resident Patrice released solely on
the Amsterdam club's own imprint. A remix of Andre Obin and a 360 remix
(Patrice & Nuno Dos Santos) of Andi Muller was followed by own original and
club smash, "Mike Tyson." Marc Romboy has been a fan for some time and is
excited to welcome Patrice to Systematic Recordings with his latest work.
"The "Chase EP" contains four completely different tracks. The maniac
"Pong" which I would describe as Patrice's craziest production to date.
"Chase", for me, showcases his unique talent for dramatic arrangements and
outstanding instrumentation. We also have a digital exclusive cut, "If Not
Now When?" that hits hard with its Dubstep approach and heavy bass that
work together with its 'mind drilling' bell melody."
