Filling up every last corner of a
compact disc, this compelling new mix
CD from the ESP Institute camp takes
you on a real sonic journey through
fifteen different "remixes, re-edits
and obscurities" compiled by such
contributors as Lexx, Lovefingers,
Bumrocks, Chee Shimizu, Alexis Le-Tan
and many more. Interestingly, the
proceeds from the sales of this CD go
to The Harmony Project, a charity
aimed at engaging youth development
through musical activities. Worthy
causes aside though, there are plenty
of more selfish reasons to collar
yourself one of these: the selection
of tracks plucked from the annals of
popular music history makes for a
richly entertaining and intriguing
sequence, kicking off from the vantage
point of 1970s psych-rock (the quite
brilliant 'Pescador') and wending its
way through a series of '80s
synth-funk passages that includes
Tako's chillwave-ready 'Mensa' and the
laidback, Jonny Nash-remixed
'Gomibako'.
