Kohib, aka Oivind A. Sjovoll has teamed up with world music
singer Mari Boine for this two track EP. Mari Boine is a
sami singer, who had her international breakthrough with the
Gula Gula album, released in 1990 on Peter Gabriel's Real
Word label. Long time established in the world music scene,
she also enjoyed success in the downbeat/chill out scene
with the Chilluminati remix of the Gula Gula track in the
late 90's early 2000's. On her second remix-album "It Ain't
Necessarily Evil", released in 2008, Kohib did a remix of
"On Fells Of The North". Oivind have since then been a fan
of Mari's work, and have wanted to do more collaboration
with her. Oivind and Mari's tight schedules finally matched
for a studio session, leading to the two tracks featured on
this EP.
