│║ As fate would be the vocalist Charlie Dominici ║ │
│║ to record the eight themes that shaped the debut ║ │
│║ album of one of the most popular and influential ║ │
│║ bands of progressive metal. The New Yorker, ║ │
│║ looking back, he did nothing wrong in that "When ║ │
│║ Dream And Day Unite", a debut that, not before ║ │
│║ effortlessly master the necessary faith and ║ │
│║ convinced his chances, he put the name of young ║ │
│║ DREAM THEATER (MAJESTY at first) in the face of ║ │
│║ the earth. Although Dominici at the time met the ║ │
│║ patterns that Mike Portnoy and his put as a ║ │
│║ requirement for the position (a mixture of acute ║ │
│║ Geoff Tate and the majesty and grandeur of Bruce ║ │
│║ Dickinson), arrived at a point started to lose ║ │
│║ steam, because, as it said in Dominici odd ║ │
│║ occasion, the band asked for something that I ║ │
│║ could not exercise for a long time. He came from ║ │
│║ a school more bluesy, freer interpretation, not ║ │
│║ of metal baggage peers demanded. ║ │
│║ The earth seemed to swallow after he left the ║ │
│║ band, until in 2005 showed signs of life when ║ │
│║ publishing via their website their debut album ║ │
│║ "03: A Trilogy - Part 1", the beginning of a ║ │
│║ trilogy, as his name suggests, which tells the ║ │
│║ story of a child who is educated in order to ║ │
│║ become a terrorist. It was at the time almost ║ │
│║ anecdotal that independent attempt by Dominici, ║ │
│║ his band, but he was only valid to joining ║ │
│║ InsideOut and aim higher with then is that we ║ │
│║ present. ║ │
│║ If someone approaches "03: A Trilogy - Part 2" ║ │
│║ for a first contact with the singer since his ║ │
│║ stay in DREAM THEATER, be patient, since ║ │
│║ Brooklyn is pray and give way to their peers to ║ │
│║ initiate this work with a theme of over eight ║ │
│║ minutes purely instrumental. Of course, no one ║ │
│║ would have any doubt that DOMINICI is a group in ║ │
│║ their own right, not a vocalist project that ║ │
│║ attempts to exploit a certain vein of past ║ │
│║ popularity, and so imply proved instrumental ║ │
│║ quartet gaining serious attention reflected by ║ │
│║ the high level in "The Monster" progressive ║ │
│║ metal in its pure essence. Especially the ║ │
│║ guitarist Brian Maillard, doing a work in this ║ │
│║ court, and along all tracks of this work, really ║ │
│║ brilliant. With the energetic "Nowhere To Hide" ║ │
│║ features Charlie Dominici their weapons present. ║ │
│║ Isolated vocal acuity of yesteryear, is even ║ │
│║ strange to hear the vocalist in a range so free, ║ │
│║ and although not clash too much with the genre ║ │
│║ to be treated, and released for taste, quality ║ │
│║ (rather than solvent, again) is not which many ║ │
│║ expected. Moreover, it may seem hard to ║ │
│║ recognize, is the most popular member of this ║ │
│║ formation, but less remarkable. Maybe it's the ║ │
│║ band that accompanies it is this potential that ║ │
│║ makes shadows, or perhaps the result of a ║ │
│║ positive and hopeful too many prejudices. ║ │
│║ Still, this work contains compositional and ║ │
│║ interpretive at a decent level. More than worth. ║ │
│║ No wonder that the German label notice them to ║ │
│║ bring up a part of its workforce. In the ║ │
│║ meantime "Capture" with Dominici moving like a ║ │
│║ fish in water in the midtones, the band shows a ║ │
│║ wise combination of technical (one of many ║ │
│║ memorable guitar solos here are collected) and ║ │
│║ melody. Also in "The Real Life", vocalist lends ║ │
│║ his voice to melancholy in a very vocal level ║ │
│║ interpretive padded practically only by a piano. ║ │
│║ The intensity comes from the hand of "Greed, The ║ │
│║ Evil Seed" progressive metal fury speedico laden ║ │
│║ in parts, resulting in several changes of ║ │
│║ rhythms masterfully embedded. As in "The ║ │
│║ Calling", where melodies and raw guitar riffs, ║ │
│║ are those that set the course of the song. No ║ │
│║ less rapid is "The Cop", where again include ║ │
│║ countless variations in pace, standing dominance ║ │
│║ and Maillard feeling emanating from his guitar ║ │
│║ with a superb exhibition of ideas. All material ║ │
│║ contained herein would be noteworthy, since "03: ║ │
│║ A Trilogy - Part 2" is a varied album, enjoyable ║ │
│║ and full of highlights. But there is a sense ║ │
│║ that, Dominici, as a band, has much more to ║ │
│║ offer, can get more out of their songs, and ║ │
│║ their ability to further exploit. And when this ║ │
│║ happens, it is not surprising that the shadow of ║ │
│║ DREAM THEATER, for possible comparisons tricky ║ │
│║ and out of place, no longer elongated and that ║ │
│║ this training take identity. Musically, this ║ │
│║ work, and they have succeeded. ║ │
