`: Hailing from Somers Point, New :'
`: Jersey, N.I.L (Nihilism Is :'
`: Liberation) have released the :'
`: æNeglect.Forget.RememberÆ EP, the :'
`: follow-up to their unfortunately not :'
`: too highly regarded debut full :'
`: length release self titled æN.I.LÆ :'
`: album. With this three track EP :'
`: N.I.L look to rid themselves of :'
`: unfavourable opinion and improve :'
`: their art and by and large they have :'
`: done just that. With a gap of four :'
`: years between their original release :'
`: and this EP, N.I.L have honed their :'
`: slow, methodical grind style into an :'
`: impressive blend of unruly blastbeat :'
`: slabs of venomous savagery mixed :'
`: with a stripped, gaunt and slower :'
`: melody to create an overall :'
`: atmosphere of discordant harmony and :'
`: stridulous fury. :'

`: Sporting a sound that is unpolished :'
`: and murky, N.I.L show in opening :'
`: track æIÆ that they are capable of :'
`: creating a moderately diverse mix of :'
`: sounds and moods, all of them bleak :'
`: and cold, yet following this comes :'
`: æIIÆ which demonstrates the bands :'
`: more hard-hitting and seething :'
`: nature as well as highlighting their :'
`: ability to strike up a catchy tune :'
`: whilst still being ultimately :'
`: hateful and scornful. Utilizing raw :'
`: vocals that shred your senses and an :'
`: obtrusive drumming style, æIIÆ takes :'
`: an iron grip on your musical :'
`: consideration and lays waste to any :'
`: thoughts of neglect or ignorance, :'
`: much like the EP title pays homage :'
`: too. æIIIÆ has a far more sinister :'
`: twist to its nature, a broiling mass :'
`: of pent-up anger and frustration, :'
`: N.I.LÆs collective hatred and evil :'
`: intent comes roaring to the surface :'
`: for this slow-paced vitriolic :'
`: juggernaut. For those who doubted :'
`: N.I.LÆs Black Metal credentials and :'
`: talents after their debut release i :'

`: been kind and this is a massive step :'
