Kj°tt was founded in 1979 as Dσrlig Karma(Bad Karma). The
lineup was Helge Gaarder on vocals, Michael Krohn on drums,
Per Tro on bass, Erik Aasheim and J°ran Rudi on guitars. The
shocking debut single was released late the same year. Helges
vocals was extrordinary on every release, and the lyrics was
provocative and some time Rimbaud-like. J°ran and Eriks
guitars combinded the raw english 77' punk with the
chainsawlike no wave New York sound. In the summer of 1981 the
band went on tour to Polen with De Press and The Aller
Værste! In november the same year the band split. Minus
Michael Krohn the rest of the band made a brilliant last album
under the name Montasje. Gaarder went on in numerous projects.
Michael Krohn started the successful Raga Rockers. With one
LP, a 12 inch EP and two 7 inch EPs, Kj°tt stands out as mayby
the best Norwegian band to come out. Unfortunately Helge
Gaarder died in 2004.
